🌱 Collaborating for a Greener Future in Spain! 🌍

On January 9, 2025, in León (Spain), the LIFE CET LOCAL GoGREEN project team met with representatives from the 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹, #EREN (Castilla y León Regional Energy Public Entity), and A3E which, as a partner in this European project leads the activity in Spain, to advance efforts towards a sustainable energy transition. 🌱 ✨

The meeting was attended by Francisco Jordán Benavente and Jose María Beltrán Vicente on behalf of the Ponferrada City Council, María del Puy Domínguez on behalf of the EREN, and Antonio López-Nava Muñoz, Guillermo J. Escobar and José Uruburu Sistiaga on behalf of A3E.

The objective was to communicate to the representatives of the Ponferrada City Council and EREN the next steps to be taken within the framework of the project, which include:
✅ Developing and implementing the Integrated Climate and Energy Plan (ICEP) for Ponferrada.
✅Identifying projects of interest for the City Council within the three prioritized areas: Renewable energy, Energy efficiency in buildings, and Sustainable transportation and electric mobility.
✅Developing action plans and feasibility studies for these projects.
✅Training the stakeholders of Ponferrada (City Council, businesses, and local institutions) in the identified priority areas.

The project received an enthusiastic response from the local administration, who pledged to actively engage with key sectors—municipal staff, businesses, and educational institutions—to maximize the benefits of these initiatives. 🤝

Together, we are shaping a roadmap to empower local authorities and drive the Clean Energy Transition forward.
