LOCAL GoGREEN at the “Sustainable and Climate-Neutral Cities for an Inclusive and Equitable Urban Future” Conference in Rome 📢

🎯 The team from Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis (CNR-IMAA): Monica Salvia, Filomena Pietrapertosa, Carmelina (Lina) Cosmi, Senatro Di Leo, and Luigi Santopietro proudly represented the LIFE LOCAL GoGREEN project at the two-day event, which was attended by around 100 people per day on site in Rome on February 27th 2025.

🏙️ Organized by the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of the National Research Council (CNR-IMAA), the conference brought together experts from academia, government, and NGOs to exchange knowledge and develop practical solutions for sustainable urban development.

Through workshops, panel discussions, and case studies, participants shared successful models and explored innovative approaches in circular economies, regenerative agriculture, smart cities, and renewable energy integration.

📌 On February 27th, Luigi Santopietro presented a key contribution titled:
“State of Local Climate and Energy Planning in 6 Small and Rural European Towns: Preliminary Results of the LIFE LOCAL GoGREEN”.
His presentation introduced the methodological framework of the LIFE LOCAL GoGREEN project and highlighted the results obtained from the pilot cases as the project enters its second year. 🎉

🔦 A special focus was given to:
🔹 Deliverable 2.1 – The Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and the preliminary outcomes of the Key Performance Indicators, developed within Task 2.3 to assess local climate and energy plans.
🔹 The foundation for the Integrated Climate and Energy Plans (ICEPs) and the ongoing work, including GAP analysis and the identification of practical recommendations to improve existing climate and energy strategies.

🔎 Additionally, the LIFE LOCAL GoGREEN project poster was displayed throughout the conference in the participants’ reception area, further increasing visibility and engagement with the initiative.

🌍 The event was a great opportunity to discuss best practices, exchange insights, and strengthen collaborations for a more sustainable and climate-resilient future! 🤝
