Supporting municipalities in the clean energy transition through the Covenant of Mayors – Europe

The Bulgarian partner in LOCAL GoGREEN – ABERON, is pleased to announce that its spinoff organisation – Institute for Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Development and Innovation (IESDI), is now officially a Supporter of the Covenant of Mayors – Europe!

🗣 As such, they are committed to promoting the Covenant and to supporting local authorities in Bulgaria in their membership or their pathway to such, as well as in achieving the European objectives of the Covenant:

• Reducing GHG emissions by 55% by 2030

• Strengthening resilience

• Alleviating energy poverty

🍃 Our Bulgarian partner endorses and will actively work to contribute to the vision of the Covenant of Mayors – Europe towards decarbonised and resilient cities with access to secure, sustainable and affordable energy by 2050. Currently, their efforts in this area are focused on the LOCAL GoGREEN project which empowers local authorities to build their capacities to deliver, implement, and monitor ambitious short and medium-term plans for accelerating the Clean Energy Transition and achieving the 2030 targets. 

The Bulgarian pilot for the LGG project is Dryanovo and we will support the municipality on its way to becoming a signatory of the Covenant of Mayors – Europe and reaffirm its ambitions in advancing sustainable development goals.
